Be careful - these folks are deceptive. I was requested to come in to sign the next year's lease for my father but when I arrived I was taken into a room and told that my father was to vacate his apartment within 60 days. The reason - he "had caregivers and was not able to live independently." My mother had caregivers in the same apartment and passed away in December. Others in the building had hospice care or other caregivers and died while in their apartments. My father died before the 60 days expired so he didn't have to leave his friends before he died. The worst part is that they weren't honest - telling me I would be signing a new lease then telling me my father couldn't stay. When helping parents through the last phase of their life, who needs this type of added trauma?
